Looking for Value in Testing and Testers with Pete Walen

How can testers add value for the team ... and for themselves. What does it actually mean, when we talk about "value" in the software testing universe? Pete Walen will gives some insights, answers and possibly more questions. Let's keep the discussion vital to see where the future role of testing and testers will lead us.

Pete Walen has been in some form of software development for over 25 years. He has been a developer, a business analyst, a project manager, tester and testing specialist, ScrumMaster and Agile Coach. Pete has also been a vital part of the Agile Testing Days community for many years now. He will host the mentoring corner at the Agile Testing Days USA 2022.

Session abstract:

Loads of experts tell us what testers do. There are extensive lists to tell us what testing is all about. They include test plans and test cases; finding bugs; to verify conformance to requirements, to tell a story and to add value.

What does any of this really mean? How can we, as testers, add value for the team, the organization or customers? What about value for ourselves? Do we, as testers, have value? Can we do better work, no matter what type of environment we are in, to improve quality and add the mysterious "value"?
