AgileTD USA 2023: Keynote & Tutorial Topics Announced


In 2023, Agile Testing Days USA is returning to Chicago for another 3-day agile testing event with lots of industry experts, thought leaders, new voice speakers and highly knowledgeable testing and QA professionals. Our lineup of keynote and tutorial speakers will help you gain new skills and strategies and change your mindset in a way so that you can improve your daily work as an individual and as a team.

We're happy to give you the first glimpse into the keynote and tutorial topics of Jenna Charlton, Paul Holland, and Melissa Eaden. Dr Rochelle Carr confirmed her topic for her keynote, and Tariq King, Lisa Crispin and Janet Gregory for their tutorials.

Elisabeth Hendrickson will share her topics for the keynote and tutorial soon. So stay tuned!

Jenna Charlton Jenna is a software tester and product owner with over a decade of experience. They've spoken at a number of dev and test conferences and are passionate about risk-based testing, building community within agile teams, developing the next generation of testers, and A11y. When not testing, Jenna loves to go to punk rock shows and live pro wrestling events with their husband Bob, travelling, and cats. Their favourite of which are the 2 that share their home, Maka and Excalipurr. Their keynote is titled "Imperfect Agile" and their tutorial "Back to Basics: Fundamental Testing Skills".

Paul Holland Paul Holland is a Sr. Test Automation Architect and has over 27 years of experience in software testing. Prior he was Senior Director of Test Engineering for 4.5 years and Head of Testing for 2 years. Paul specializes in adapting testing methodologies to reduce waste and be more effective and efficient. Finding ways to document only that which needs to be documented. Modifying reporting of test activities to provide actionable information to stakeholders and reduce/eliminate potentially harmful metrics. His keynote is titled "Where is testing heading?" and his tutorial "Fact It. Your Test Report Sucks."

Melissa Eaden Melissa Eaden has worked for more than a decade with tech companies such as Security Benefit, HomeAway, ThoughtWorks, and now Unity Technologies. Melissa’s previous career in mass media continues to lend itself to her current career endeavours. She enjoys being EditorBoss for the Ministry of Testing, supporting their community mission for software testers globally. Melissa's keynote is titled "The Secret to My Success" and the working title for her tutorial is "Research for Technologies".

Dr Rochelle Carr Dr Rochelle Carr is a dynamic leadership and development consultant who brings to the table a veritable salt-shaker of expertise as a business leader, coach, presenter, and all-around motivator. As CEO of Path Forward Empowerment, Dr Carr’s mission is to deliver a passport to self-leadership to her clients through positive thinking, spirituality, and shaking off unproductive habits that get in the way of achieving goals. As a sought-after public speaker, trainer and facilitator, she works with companies and organizations in planning, executing, monitoring, and implementing parameters, which allow teams to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria. Her keynote is titled "The WHY You Are!"

Tariq King Tariq King enjoys breaking things and is currently the Chief Scientist at test.ai, where he leads research and development of their core platform for AI-driven testing. He started his career in academia as a tenure-track professor and later transitioned into the software industry. Tariq previously held positions as a test architect, manager, director, and head of quality. He has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed software testing books, journals, conferences, and workshops. He is a member of the ACM and IEEE Computer Society and serves as a board member and keynote speaker for several international software engineering and testing conferences. His tutorial is titled "Breaking into AI and Machine Learning".

Lisa Crispin & Janet Gregory Janet Gregory and Lisa Crispin haven't just pioneered agile testing, they have also written three of the field's most valuable guidebooks. They are co-authors of 'Agile Testing: A Practical Guide for Testers and Agile Teams', 'More Agile Testing: Learning Journeys for the Whole Team' and 'Agile Testing Condensed: A Brief Intro'.
